Wencong Ming dynasty |

|
| Yang Wencong was born in Guiyang (modern
Guizhou) with name Longyou, nickname Shanzi xuezhai, A'long,
Hechao, then moved to Nanjing. He won the prize of successful
candidate in 1619. After Nanjing's occupied, he worked for
Zhu Jingjian, and fought for withstanding Qing's army, but
was seized to kill. There are two kinds of the landscape,
including wetness and drying. His wetness was from Juran,
Huicong, and the drying was from Zhao Mengzhao, Huang Gongwang.
Dong Qichang appraised that, "the works "Taidang" of Yang
Wencong had the strength of Dong's style, the elegance of
Yuan's style. I think this must be from Juran and Huicong."
His unique style is cheesy and degageon the silk, and Wu Weiye
regarded him as one of the "nine friends in the painting"
with Dong Qichang, Li Liufang and Shaomi. |
