Since opium war, imperialism was aggressing with
batches of western things, Chinese handicraft industry got the serious
impact. And Shiwan pottery tended to decline.
After the new People's Republic of China set up, the government of Nanhai
area paid close attention to Shiwan pottery, and founded the pottery labor
union, which included curio department. The prompt action saved Shiwan
pottery art and gave it a new lease of life. Experiencing from culture
