| The earliest image of fan disappeared on the bronze teapot of Warring State with the slaves holding the long-handle fan (picture 1-2) unearthed from Baihuatan of Chendu in Sichuan province. The earliest practicality of fan was found on the incomplete feather fan with wooden handle unearthed from Tianxingguan Chu grave of Jiangling in Hubei, and the thin bamboo strip fan with long-handle fan unearthed from Mawangdui of Changsha in Hunan as well. The fan with long-handle from Mawangdui has the length of 1.76 meter in the great ceremony, held by the slaves or lacqueys for keeping out the dust and sun, also the symbol of the owner's right. | |
