Chicken blood stone is opacity with
dry and gray material, less variety of colors which has
grey and white, also a spot of black and other colors together.
Generally, it is of hard material and is very difficult
to carve on it, so it is also of low-end grade. However,
there is a variety of "surface blood" which is
one of the best in all kinds of stones. The colored "Chicken
blood" accompanies on the surface of the hard stones,forming
a single of double-sided "Chicken blood" surface,
that's the reason "surface blood". Based on the
long-period attention to the producing area, we found the
harder the stone is, the fresher the "chicken blood"
together is, the best the color is kept. Some fine "surface
blood" is the excellent material to make the crafts
and copy-ancient furnishings, among which has already been
an enjoying artwork just by polishing the surface. In addition,
there are some more hard chicken blood stones in grey, yellow,
black and brown colors.
Chicken blood stone is of the high-rigidity.
With the development of the stone carving's crafts and the
crafts change of the chicken blood stone, people began to
pay much attention to the chicken blood stones since 1980s,and
some rare pieces does appear. It is similar with this kind
of chicken blood stone and the other chicken blood stone
in jelly and soft material. However, different ingredients
cause the different rigidity and transparence. The main
rigidity of this is the aggregate of cinnabar, strong and
weak silexed dickite kaolinite, alunite,silicon and quartz,
which is divided into two kinds,one is of the exquisite,
smooth and opacity texture (acturally the works with a little
transparence is very popular); and the top quality of it
is similar with the soft material's, but it is fragile,
especially in the case of hot and shake; the other is in
brown yellow and rosiness color, most of the stones are
not suible for carving, and normally people often appreciate
its nature by ratherish processing.
People use the colorful soft stone
as the material of chicken blood stone. Although the transparence
and brightness is not as good as the jelly stones', but
after the crasis of different colors, shapes and rich textures,
it can form a beautiful design which is far better than
the jelly stone of the chicken blood. This kind of material
is the most common with cinnabar, dickite, kaolinite, less
alunite and quartz is around 60% output. Look closely, you
can find that it is ceraceous, some are none-transparence,
some are half-transparence, acturally, its rigidity is 3-4
degree.
The jelly of chicken blood stone
which is the essence in all of chicken blood stones is
always the main subject of people pursuing and exploitation.
It is the natural combination of cinnabar, dickite, kaolinite,
alunite with the strong ceraceous color and transparent
texture, also its rigidity is 2-3 degree.
Colorful and soft stones are the
richest stones with a lot of floweriness colors, some
of the patterns are vivid, which the peculiar double seal
just comes. If the artist wants to embody the Changhua
stone works with skillful style,colorful and soft stone
is the first choice. Also, some of them with special color
is the goal of fans. It is wonderful and surprising that
the color, patterns, or something like people, animals,
flowers, birds, fishes and even the landscape, pavilion
and abstract pictures are really like life. The biggest
difference between colorful soft stones and colorful jelly
stones is the transparence. Some of this kind have a little
inferior, but its color is good enough to offset the transparence
and brightness, among which there are some distinctive
kind with soft texture, even better than the colorful
jelly stones.
Colorful and soft stones is often
called soft jade stone, which is including dickite kaolinite,
alunite and quartz. The rigidity with ceraceous is around
3-4 degree. It is the most common type in Changhua stones,
which is around 50% of the output.
Colorful jelly stone with clear, glossy, transparent
and ceraceous characters is the best material in Changhua
stones, most of which is like cotton texture and is including
the pure dickite and kaolinite. Colorful jelly stone is
around 2-3 degree in rigidity and suitable for carving.
We divide it into single and colorful jellly, among which
the single one is the best. Colorful jelly stones always
spread through the wall rocks with the different oogonium
gobbet which has clear ambit and the block complete colorful
jelly stone is extremely rare.
